​Due to a resignation, West Leechburg Borough is seeking a resident to serve as a member of council. The appointee will serve out the remainder of the former council member’s term, which ends in December, 2023.

Anyone interested in serving the community as a member of council is asked to turn in a letter of interest to the borough secretary by Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 5:00pm. Letters of Interest may be emailed to the secretary at secretary@westleechburg.us or dropped off in person or mailed to 1015 Plazak Street, West Leechburg, PA 15656.

It is council’s intention to appoint the new council member at the January 11, 2023 council meeting.

Council Meeting Highlights 12/14/22
Among other things, council:

• Passed a budget for 2023.
• Passed a tax ordinance leaving the real estate tax rate the same as 2022.
• Accepted the resignation of councilwoman Marge Kasanicky. Details for those wishing to apply for this position will follow in a later post.
• Approved Semper Gratus’s use of borough streets for their run/walk in March.
• Approved an insurance package.
• Approved a resolution applying for grant funding for sewer projects.
• Discussed code enforcement issues.
