- West Leechburg park has new playground equipment
- Annual clean up days with info of what can be placed on curb and when
- Volunteers needed for Fire Fighters and Crime Watch
- Notices and reminders of borough regulations related to driveway construction/modifications, grass and tree maintenance along borough streets, fireworks and burning restrictions.
SWIMMING POOLS IN THE BOROUGH:
Those considering having a swimming pool or already have a swimming pool need to make sure that they are placed, assembled and/or constructed to the PA Uniform Construction Code. Go to the Borough Regulations tab or click here to see the specifics of the code. This code is meant to help keep families and the neighborhood safe and to prevent swimming pool accidents.

The 2019 school property taxes have been mailed and can now be paid. The good news is that there is no tax rate increase for this year. Payments can be made in person at the office or by mail. If paying installments by mail please mail ALL copies of bill with installment payment and stamped self addressed envelope with which I can return copies of bills with installment marked paid back to you for your next installment payment. Currently the 2019 spring county and borough property taxes are overdue, which were sent out the end of February with the FACE amount could have been paid up to and including June 30th. Currently a 10% penalty is applied. Tax payments, which now need to included the 10% penalty, need to be received by December 31st (if sent by mail postmarked December 31st or earlier). After December 31st no property taxes for 2019 can be paid to this office but rather need to be paid directly to the Westmoreland County Tax office after contacting them to find out the additional fee and interest that need to be paid. Any county, borough and school property taxes that are currently past due (i.e., 2018 and previous years) cannot be collected by this office. If you still owe these taxes contact the Westmoreland County Tax office who will provide directions on how to pay the taxes.

-It seems there have been complaints regarding some utility service providers. For help and guidance in resolving these complaint please click here for guidance from Public Utility Commission for taking care of these complaints and issues.

Bankosh Sanitation is West Leechburg’s garbage collector
Garbage is collected in the borough Tuesday and needs to be placed on the curb late Monday or early Tuesday morning. There are no garbage collection bills paid by property owners but rather the borough pays for this service. Collection is limited to 3 garbage bags. Additional bags can be collected that have prepaid stickers attached to them. Click here for more info
- Garbage is not collected on any main holiday that falls on Tuesday, but is collected on the following day.
- Borough clean up days are generally held during a day or two in late summer or early fall. This is an opportunity for property owners to dispose of larger items. Appliances or devices that have freon and any cans/containers that have harmful chemicals or paint will not be picked up. Check back to this website for the scheduled pick up dates.
