12/13/23 Council Highlights
Among other things, council:

• Set the January 2024 reorganization meeting for 1/2/24 at 6:30pm. The reorganization meeting will be followed by council’s regular January council meeting at 7:00pm.
• Approved ordinance 333, setting the tax rate for 2024 at 29 mils. This is the same tax rate as 2023. The ordinance is passed every year to set the tax rate.
• Approved the general fund and sewer user fee budgets for 2024.
• Discussed the status of ATI’s tax assessment appeal. 
• Heard a thank you letter from Tim Grantz thanking residents for allowing him to serve 36 years on council and to council members and borough employees for making those years a success. Tim will be departing council at the end of December.

West Leechburg Borough now has a medication drop off box. This box can be used to drop expired or excess medications.

Pills should be placed in ziploc bags or the names on pill bottles should be blacked out somehow. NO syringes or liquids can be accepted. Please look at the picture below for some additional tips on what is/is not accepted.

The box is located inside the borough building and can only be accessed during hours where the building is open (such as the secretary's regularly scheduled times or council meetings).

Santa is planning to ride through West Leechburg on Saturday, December 23 starting at 1pm!

More details to follow closer to the event.

Santa has once again dropped a letterbox off at the West Leechburg Borough Building!

Children can send a letter to Santa by dropping it off in the box on the park side of the borough building.

Please make sure a return address is included on the letter so Santa is able to reply!

Also, make sure all letters are dropped off by December 19th, 2023 so Santa has enough time to write back.
