The Borough of West Leechburg is accepting resumes for the position of full-time laborer/equipment operator. Resumes must be received in the Borough Office, 1015 Plazak Street, West Leechburg, PA 15656 no later than 7:00 P.M. on February 10th, 2022, to be considered.

Updates from the council meeting on 1/3/22.

This was a reorganization meeting that saw three new members join council, so the following is an updated list of borough leadership.

• Mayor: Steve Yenchi
• President of Council: Marcia Cole
• Vice President of Council: Tim Grantz

New committee assignments were also handed out. The chairperson of each committee is listed below. Full committee assignments will be listed on the borough website in the near future.

• Buildings & Utilities: Randee McGee
• Finance & Administration: Joanne Gibson
• Parks and Recreation: Marge Kasanicky
• Public Safety: Christina Hosler
• Sanitation: Matt Grantz
• Streets: Tim Grantz

Appointees and professionals were also reappointed to various boards and authorities.

The regular council meeting following the reorganization meeting was primarily informational to help get new members up to speed. The following are some highlights:

• Council approved the resignation of Alyson Bell as treasurer and thanked her for her service during a difficult transition period.
• Council approved a resolution requesting that Westmoreland County share a portion of its federal COVID relief money with the county's municipalities.
• Council discussed a technology policy for borough employees as well as ordinances related to parking and solar installations. These are all currently in progress with nothing approved yet.
• Council authorized the engineer to advertise bids for sewer projects on Circle Drive and the 2022 summer paving program.

West Leechburg Borough Council will hold its reorganization meeting at 7 pm on 1/3/22 at the borough building. This will be followed by council's regular monthly meeting. The agendas for both meeting can be found below and, as always, can be found at the Documents section of this website.
