Council Highlights 11/8/23

Among other things, council:

Discussed plans for the sanitary sewer replacement on part of Gosser Street using borough funds and a grant from the county.
Approved tentative general fund and sanitary sewer budgets for 2024. Final budget approval to take place at the December meeting.
Approved advertising a tax ordinance setting the borough’s millage rate at 29 mils. This did not change from last year.
Approved a Memorandum of Understanding with union employees.
Discussed potential festivities related to Christmas (Santa’s mailbox, Santa’s ride through town, etc.). More to come on this later once details are ironed out.

W. Leechburg Hill Road Closure Update

11/7/2023

PennDOT has rescheduled the closure of West Leechburg Hill Road to November 13, 2023. This project will replace a culvert carrying a stream under the road. This project is being carried out by PennDOT without any involvement from West Leechburg Borough as it is a state road.

If there are any issues with the closure or with winter maintenance along the detour route, please report them to PennDOT here.
